Under 2's Room

There's been many things happening this month in the under 2's room! World book day was so much fun; some of the children came into nursery dressed up as a character from their favourite book! Throughout the day we read stories in our 'comfy corner.'

The children also celebrated International Women's day by painting wooden hearts with pink tissue paper. For Red Nose day, the children painted red noses for Comic Relief. They also enjoyed painting on large bits of paper with the red paint dabbers!

Staff made playdough for St Patrick's Day and the children used tools to create shapes! Shamrocks were cut out for the children to paint and they added tissue paper for colourful effect.

2-3's Room

The 2-3's room have been having great fun during meal times as the children are encouraged to self-serve and use their cutlery. The children have also been looking at different forms of maths by using the abacus, measuring water jugs and comparing sizes of full, half full and empty.

We are asking all parents to help us teach the children how to use their cutlery during meal times as a home-learning task if possible!

The room also celebrated World Book Day! The children came in dressed up as different characters and the staff read some fantasy stories. Finally, the children made great gifts for all of their wonderful mummies by planting flowers and making biscuits!

Preschool - Minis

The Preschool Minis have been learning about the different seasons and how the weather

is affected during each one. They've specifically learned about the Spring season.

Apart from being busy practising yoga, observing the different creatures at the bug hotel and creating artwork in the room, the Minis have also been painting with natural resources such as twigs and leaves.

Preschool - The Lodge

The Lodge has been having a blast exploring outside in the field and going on bug hunts at the bug hotel. The children have been planting trees and flowers for Mother's Day as well!

We did many fun activities for World Book Day, Red Nose Day and International Women's Day! As the weather gets warmer we will be outside more and more. We've had different themed days where we learned about different colours. We would focus on painting in those colours and making

arts and crafts. Finally we've been practising away at our phonics!

Preschool - The Cabin

The cabin had a lemonade stand where the children made their own Lemonade by cutting

and squeezing the juice out and mixing it all up. The children also learned about caterpillars in their natural habitat and learned lots of new vocabulary words. The topic this half-term has been about mini-beasts, and when the new term starts it will be dinosaurs!

Comic Relief

A massive thank you to all of the donations for Comic Relief! You can see on the right that Hayley is very shocked to be sponged with cold water! Thankfully it was sunny out and it was all for a good cause. All proceeds are going directly to the charity.

New Staff and Farewells

We are welcoming new members of staff to the team - Shyheim, Katy and Pauline! Shyheim will be a lunch cover and Katy and Pauline will be working permanently in the rooms. We've welcomed our new chef, Tom, who started with us on Monday. We are also saying goodbye for now to Adel as she goes on maternity leave at the end of this week.
