Under 2's Room

This month in babies we are going to be focusing on animals and the sounds that they make. When we are at the park and in the garden we will be adventuring and looking for bugs and insects.

In the room we have animal flashcards that we will be doing group activities with where we will focus of familiar animal sounds.

2-3's Room

We are exploring the outdoor world in our garden using different textures in our tuff tray from freezing animals to using ice cubes and mud.

Additionally, we have been discovering different colours by using paint to paint flick on our paper to create a magical picture for our room.

We also have used different materials to create different patterns with our vehicles.

This month we are learning about self care we have been making the most of the warm weather by washing our babies in the bath and making sure they are all clean

We have been getting school ready for graduation, as we have over 30 children leaving. We've been learning our songs and making our hats. To get ready for school we have been practising our morning and afternoon register, letter formation and phonics. We will be continuing to prepare for reception class this summer!

As well as getting school ready we have also been planting fruit, vegetables and flowers at the bug hotel. We will now be focusing on summer

holidays, packing our bags and planning our holiday. We will have a whole range of holiday

activities throughout the summer months! Preschool minis have made crowns and flags to celebrate the Jubilee and have been practising their phonics. They've also spent time with preschool during forestry school.

Oral Health Oral health is a very important topic for early years. Good teeth hygiene can help prevent tooth decay later on in life, as well as a host of other issues. We are

encouraging our parents to teach their children about oral health in July.

All parents are reminded to not send their child in while they are actively sick. We have had an interesting couple of weeks with children coming in with Calpol in their system, which is against our policies and procedures. Please remember that although Covid-19 is over, if your child is too sick to come in, they need to stay home. We try our best to follow the latest NHS guidelines about children sickness and exclusion periods.

Our Cabin Room Leader, Rosie, is leaving us! Rosie has been a great asset to our team and she'll be greatly missed. Good luck, Rosie!

Food & Safety Inspection

We've had our food and safety inspection, and we've received a 5/5 rating! Thank you to Tom and Sarah, our two kitchen employees, who work very hard each day to ensure the highest standard of food safety is followed to keep the children safe and well fed!
