Hello all Parents and Team members of Acorn to Oak Nursery and Pre-School!
Welcome to the team and the new menu!
We will be welcoming Jessica and Sayilija as our apprentices in January and a new full-time member of staff Rosie. We have had to say goodbye to Shelley B and wish her the best for the future. Our new and improved menu is now available on our website. Please do go and check it out.
BUBBLE UPDATES
We have introduced two additional bubbles to ensure minimal disruption should anyone get corona virus. We divide the bubbles by age and stage. if a child is more advanced, we move them up a bubble and likewise if a child needs more support, we keep them in the bubble they are in until they are ready to learn as all children develop at different ages and stages but normally the bubble ages are as follows: Yellow - 3months-15 Orange - 15-24 months Red 24-36 months Green 3-4 yrs Blue are those older who are going to school in September.
We have found the bubbles are working really well and the children are all getting more focused time with their key persons and more one on one time. The bubbles are running calmly and smoothly.
All activities are carried out by learning through play in all bubbles and activities are planned depending on each individual child and as a bubble.
Staff members in each bubble are: Yellow: Ali and Rosie. Orange: Amy and Sayilija Rosie is our under 2’s room leader so will support both yellow and orange bubble. Red: Wendy, Chloe and Jessica Green: Adele and Izzy Blue: Charmaine, Becca and Adam
CHRISTMAS FUN
Week commencing 14th December will be Christmas week and staff will be wearing festive outfits to celebrate.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
All activities are carried out by learning through play in all bubbles and activities are planned depending on each individual child and as a bubble. Our objective as a nursery is to get children school ready which includes
children being able to make relationships,
resolve conflict,
dress and undress independently,
hold a pencil correctly
concentrate for short periods of time.
Making sure the children have strong social skills,
can cope emotionally with being separated from parents,
are relatively independent in their own personal care
Have a curiosity about the world and a desire to learn.
We follow the Early Years foundation stages We ensure children learn through activities they enjoy. Green and Blue bubbles each have an Early years Teacher who will follow the children development and interest to plan.
All children will have a 6 monthly development report put on Tapestry by the end of term, please have a look at your child’s report and any questions please let Lucy or Rebecca know.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
